Kevin started the annual Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day celebrations held at the cemetery, a tradition that still continues today. In 2013, their son John took over the family business and became a 3 rd generation funeral professional. Following in the footsteps of his dad and his grandpa, John continued in the funeral industry and helped further expand Desert Lawn. Seeing the need to care for our pet families, he opened up All Pets Go to Heaven in 2014, as the area’s only full-service pet funeral home, crematory, and cemetery. We had to call Mohave Mortuary at the absolute worst time of our lives when our daughter passed away. Summer, our main contact throughout this horrendous week of losing my child suddenly and then the waiting for autopsy and viewing and cremation, was a calm, compassionate bright spot. If anyone was made for the difficult role of assisting the grieving it is this young woman.
Started by the late Kevin Hassett, he built Desert Lawn with the purpose of providing exceptional care and compassion during one of the hardest moments one’s life.
